Patriots for Life
Donors make a difference by impacting the work and mission of Metro Christian Academy with their support.
The Patriots for Life program honors those individuals who have made a lasting commitment to Metro Christian Academy through their estate plans or other long-term gifts. Gifts may be as straightforward as naming Metro as one of the beneficiaries of a retirement account or life insurance policy, including the school in your will or trust, or careful gift planning with a financial advisor. Whether simple or more structured, these thoughtful commitments provide donors with peace of mind knowing they have cared for their families today while also fulfilling their long-term philanthropic goals.
Ways to Make a Planned Gift
There are several meaningful ways you can include Metro in your estate plans and create a lasting legacy:
- Make a bequest of cash, securities, or other property
- Designate a fixed dollar amount, a specific asset, or a percentage of your estate
- Provide for Metro through your residuary estate, after your loved ones have been cared for
- Name Metro as a contingent beneficiary of a life insurance policy, ensuring your legacy if other beneficiaries do not survive you
Choosing to leave a percentage of your estate can be a particularly flexible option, allowing your gift to adjust with your estate's value and helping ensure your intentions are honored regardless of future circumstances.
Through planned giving, you partner with Metro in shaping lives—helping ensure that future generations of young men, regardless of background, continue to receive a Christ-centered, life-changing education.

Sample Bequest Language
The following sample language may be helpful when working with your attorney:
I hereby give, devise, and bequeath (_____ dollars), or (a specific asset such as securities, real estate, or other property), or (_____ percent of the rest, residue, and remainder of my estate) to The Metro Christian Academy Foundation, a nonprofit organization located at 6363 S. Trenton Ave, Tulsa, OK 74136, Federal Tax ID # 20-2873984, for The Metro Christian Academy Foundation’s general use and purposes.
Using a Codicil to Make a Bequest
You may choose to use a codicil to add a bequest or modify your existing will without creating a new one. A codicil must be executed with the same legal formalities as your will, including any requirements for witnesses or notarization, which vary by state. Please consult your attorney to determine the best option for your family.
Naming Metro as a Beneficiary of Your Retirement Account
Designating The Metro Christian Academy Foundation as a beneficiary of your retirement account—such as an IRA, 401(k), 403(b), or other tax-deferred plan—can be a tax-wise way to support Metro while stewarding your resources faithfully. When you name Metro as a beneficiary:
- Your gift passes tax-free to Metro, as charitable organizations are not subject to income tax
- Your estate may avoid potential estate taxes on the value of the retirement assets
- Your heirs may avoid income tax on inherited pre-tax retirement funds
- Your estate may be eligible for a charitable deduction, potentially reducing estate tax liability
We encourage you to consult your tax advisor or attorney to determine the best plan for your personal and family circumstances.
